Raising the standards[]
In the past I have stood by the standard for articles under 320 bytes to be deemed clearly "stubs". In recent times the wiki has moved to a stronger standard in article writing thanks to following more thought out templates and overall picking much more logical places to split off articles at. Raising the standard at this point, is to better serve the higher standard. The screen cap of the Special:ShortPages shows the current state of the wiki in this regard. There are 18 stubs currently, a rather low number. I expect that by the end of the week, all those stubs will be out of stub status. So, raising the benchmark seems to be the natural next step. I am wanting to raise it to 450 bytes which are all highlighted in orange. 500 bytes which I think may be a bit too high is yellow. Green highlighted articles in the list are below 600 bytes.
Notes about stubs overall: Stubs are a natural part of a wiki, a place where growth is needed. Many times the articles started as stubs are done as a calling to push the wiki in new directions and a call for more perspectives. Sometimes the articles are started to show the wiki is aware that the topic is worth addressing, however none of the current editors are able to address it. Also, many short articles usually need so tender care and rewrites to better embellish on the subject of the article. Devilmanozzy (Talk Page) 02:40, May 19, 2015 (UTC)
