Charles Foster Hearse's love for the supernatural continued with his grandson, Charles Foster Hearse III. For one of Spooks Illustrated's annual "Ghost Hunter of the Year" issues, Hearse had his special executive assistant, Barbara Mentee bring the Ghostbusters to his penthouse office in the Slime Life Building. He explained the challenge that would determine who among the four would be selected: capture the ghost of Charles Foster Hearse. Winston Zeddemore insisted they were a team but the others were initially intrigued with the prospect of being on the cover. When the team helped the ghost disperse, all four were chosen for the coveted title.
