When Apshai and his worshipers were driven out of Egypt, they took the capstone with them and set sail on a barge never to be seen again. Apshai went into a state of hibernation within the capstone. It lay buried deep underground for countless millennium. Once the Scarab of Apshai was reopened, the capstone was reactivated and Apshai emerged from it. When a facsimile of the temple was rebuilt, the capstone was placed atop it. After absorbing power from the Sun, the capstone rendered Apshai invincible. Luckily, the capstone was still vulnerable to Proton Streams and shattered by the Ghostbusters. Apshai disintegrated and everything returned to normal.
