Doctor Who

Doctor Who is a British science-fiction television series produced by the BBC since 1963. The program depicts the adventures of a Time Lord called "The Doctor", an extraterrestrial being from the planet Gallifrey. The Doctor explores the universe in a time-travelling space ship called the TARDIS. Its exterior appears as a blue, British police box, which was a common sight in Britain in 1963 when the series first aired. Accompanied by a number of companions, the Doctor combats a variety of foes, while working to save civilisations and help people in need.

The original series ran from 1963 to 1989. It was followed by a TV movie in 1996, then was revived as a full-time series in 2005 to 2022, then rebooted in 2023.

2005 Series

• "Army of Ghosts" (July 1, 2006, Season 2) - Ghosts have been returning to their loved ones all over the world, but the Doctor (David Tennant) isn't convinced that all is as it seems. He builds a triangulation device to trap one, and when he comes out of his little cubbyhole on the Tardis, he's wearing a backpack and carrying an item that gives the somewhat appearance of a Proton Pack. That prompts him to proclaim, "Who you gonna call?", when he pops up. His companion, Rose (Billie Piper), responds with, "Ghostbusters!" He then continues with, "I ain't afraid of no ghost."

• "Hide" (April 20, 2013, Season 7) - The Doctor's companion Clara (Jenna Coleman) introduces herself and the Doctor as Ghostbusters.

• "Last Christmas" (December 25, 2014, Season 9) - When he's trying to get a group of people to think their way out of a perilous situation, the Doctor (Peter Capaldi) says, "Come on, it's Christmas, the North Pole. Who you gonna call?" Then out of the air comes Nick Frost! Hooray for Santa Claus!
• "Under the Lake" (October 3, 2015, Season 9) - As the Doctor (Peter Capaldi), companion Clara (Jenna Coleman) and the crew on the underwater mining facility are discussing what to do next, Cass (Sophie Stone) plans to abandon the base, signing to the Doctor that "Topside can send down a whole team of marines or ghostbusters or whatever," only for them to discover the ghosts on base have already sent a distress signal to lure more victims to the base.
