Dostoyevsky Sato is an astronaut and commanding officer on Space Platform Galileo. Sato's military rank is Lieutenant. When the station's alarms activated, he interpreted the alert as an incursion. Sato was perplexed when Captain Kirov made a direct call to the Ghostbusters. After The Creature was trapped, Sato personally invited the Ghostbusters to visit them again someday.

• Sato's first name is in honor of Fyodor Dostoyevsky, a famous Russian writer.

• Sato looks to be a spoof of Hikaru Sulu.

• As a twist in later "Trek fandom," Sato in turn can also be compared to Hoshi Sato.
