The Ecto-Fire Truck is an old junkyard fire truck that was used in the final battle against S.I.D.N.E.E..

History

In need of more powerful equipment to fight S.I.D.N.E.E., the Ghostbusters purchased two vehicles from Honest Irv's Wrecking Yard. One was a fire truck. Ray Stantz and Winston Zeddemore mounted a Proton Cannon on the truck's deck. The Cannon would have 100 times the force of any existing equipment. [1] One of the hatches on the side of the truck was outfitting with equipment intended to lock onto an ectoplasmic entity and electronically relay these coordinates to the Proton Cannon, thus the fire truck required three users during operation. Also, as an aesthetic choice, the No Ghost logo was painted on the driver's side door.

In Central Park, the Ecto-Fire Truck successfully fired on and wrangled S.I.D.N.E.E. but the power relays overloaded and were fried. Garrett Miller used a nearby electrical panel as an alternate power source and patched a cable in. The patch worked and the Proton Cannon was back on-line. It was instrumental in trapping the entity.
