The Empire State Building is a 102-story skyscraper, landmark, and American cultural icon located in New York City at the intersection of Fifth Avenue and West 34th Street. Counting its antenna spire, the building as a height of 1,454 feet. Tourists flock to the building's observation decks on the 86th and 102nd floors for their amazing views of New York City.

After the ghosts were freed from the Containment Unit in 1984, many were pulled towards 550 Central Park West. They briefly passed by the Empire State Building.

In the 1990s, Idulnas, while in possession of Jim Silver, ascended the Empire State Building in order to commune with the essence of Gozer as nearly finished its reformation. Idulnas needed Ray Stantz back in Manhattan and animated the nearby bear statue of Wall Street to draw him into a trap.
