The B.U.F.O. Receptacle is a special heavy duty container used by B.U.F.O. agents to temporarily hold Unidentifiable Flying Organisms for transportation to an official facility for further testing.
History[]
Walter Peck and Calahan used a B.U.F.O. Receptacle to hold Slimer while he was taken to the B.U.F.O. Facility in Queens for testing. Slimer was later recaptured after testing and placed back in the receptacle to be taken to a cyclotron laboratory for elimination. The receptacle ended up in the possession of the Ghostbusters. It was among the devices Janine Melnitz and Louis Tully brought with them to try and open a portal to save the Ghostbusters and Slimer from The Phantom.

- On page two of Ghostbusters Issue #11, the B.U.F.O. Receptacle makes a non-canon cameo on one of the blankets.
- On page seven of Ghostbusters Issue #14, the B.U.F.O. Receptacle makes a non-canon cameo on the ground to the left of Walter Peck.
- On page one of Ghostbusters International #9, in panel 5, right of Jenny Moran's word balloon , the B.U.F.O. Receptacle makes a non-canon cameo.
