Chief Garver is a chief for the Fire Department City of New York.
History[]
On Devil's Night, Chief Garver was on the scene at Central Park's Glen Span Arch on West Drive, in the North Woods section. After some time, the Ghostbusters finally arrived. When Garver asked what the heck took them so long, Peter Venkman replied they got sidetracked by a thing in Hell's Kitchen. Garver was not impressed and believed the Ghost Fire Wall was more important. As Ray Stantz readied his Slime Blower, Garver informed them the firefighters already tried chemical suppressants. He watched as Ray tore a hole in the wall. As the Ghostbusters began going through into the park, Garver asked if they wanted more protective gear. Ray thanked him for the offer but believed it wouldn't help. He advised Garver to keep the people back.
After Ray exorcised the Atlantean Priest Ghost from Egon Spengler with positively charged Psychomagnotheric Slime in Penn Station, they ran into Chief Garver and several firefighters upstairs. Garver asked where the fire was. It was false alarm that Peter used to clear the station with.
