The Ecto-Visors functioned much like the Ecto Goggles did in the detection of ectoplasmic entities. It appears they were built into the helmet to allow head protection while using them. One contrast between the Ecto Goggles and the Ecto-Visors is the lack of inductors when seeing through them.

History[]

The Real Ghostbusters[]

When the Ghostbusters were trying to convince Cyrus Spengler they needed Egon for one last case, Egon polarized the lens of the Ecto-Visors to accept Poltergeist frequencies.[1] Otherwise, they were invisible to humans. Oddly this device wasn't shown again, and in they later dealt with a pair of Imps by using the Ecto Goggles (alternatively referred to as Ecto-Visors).[2]

IDW Comics[]

For a consultation at Parkview Psychiatric Hospital, Kylie Griffin used an Ecto-Visor to take readings of the arcane spell painted by Janosz Poha, under the possession of Idulnas, months prior. During Halloween, Kylie used an Ecto-Visor to take a reading of the Ghost Fire Wall. She quickly ascertained it wasn't a fire at all and observed spirits.
