Extreme Ghostbusters VHS series was the USA release of Extreme Ghostbusters episodes on the VHS format. Released in 1998 by Columbia/TriStar Home Video, each VHS had two episodes and were recorded in the low-quality SLP/EP speed. (Most major studio releases at the time were duplicated in the high-quality SP speed.)
In addition to being sold separately, all three volumes were released together in a box set. For reasons unknown, most retailers sold the box set as the three individual tapes shrinkwrapped together. Customers needed to call Sony to get the caution-striped box in which to slip the three individual tape boxes into. Not many people were informed of the existence of this slipbox, making it something of a rarity. [1] [2]
