The Frequency Emulator is a generator designed to lock onto any ectoplasmic frequency and emulate it.[1]

History[]

During the First Annual Ghostbusters Grand Prix, Janine Melnitz used the Frequency Emulator last in hopes it would help her save the Ghostbusters. She fired it on the spot where The Phantom created an ectoplasmic tunnel to the Netherworld. After some time, the Emulator locked onto a frequency of 7000 and successfully reopened the tunnel.[2][3] The Ghostbusters drove through the tunnel and returned to Manhattan. Janine promptly shut down the Emulator before the Phantom could grab Ecto-1.
