The Rental Agent showed Erin Gilbert, Abby Yates, and Jillian Holtzmann a Firehouse as their potential base of operations. She claimed it was a fantastic spot for their business. The women were thrilled. Abby and Holtzmann ran around the space talking about potential setup and ideas. The agent told Erin the monthly rent was $21,000. Erin cursed at the agent. After apologizing, Erin explained that they didn't have that sort of money. She asked who could afford that. The agent claimed Abby only told here they were looking for a place "to explore the unknown." Erin told her they needed to explore something a lot cheaper. The agent asked if they were okay with the smell of Chinese Food. This led to the team renting the floor above Zhu's Authentic Hong Kong Food in Chinatown.
