The Ring Leader Ghost is an entity that led the Times Square Battle Ghosts for Rowan North. They appeared in the 2016 movie.

History[]

During the Ghost Invasion, the Ring Leader Ghost led the Times Square Battle Ghosts at 43rd Street and Broadway to repel the Ghostbusters. Rowan decided the Ghostbusters needed a proper New York welcome. He released enough P.K.E. to make Times Square look like it did in the bygone eras. The Ring Leader Ghost marched past the Ghostbusters and took up a position between them and The Mercado Hotel. A P.K.E. fog materialized around the Ring Leader as well. As waves of ghosts energized out of the fog, the Ring Leader directed them to attack. As the Ghostbusters neutralized each wave, he growled in anger. He later directed ghosts to go solely after Jillian Holtzmann. She easily dispatched them with her Proton Pistols. The Ring Leader had enough and lurched towards Holtzmann. She fired both of her Proton Pistols on him continuously. The Ring Leader dispersed right before he could grab her. She released the pistols and they automatically went back into her Proton Pack like a seat belt being released then she declared the Ring Leader just got Holtzmanned.

Trivia[]

  • The Ring Leader Ghost was done by the previs company Halon Entertainment and it stuck around ever since. It was then used in one of the early trailers. Positive fan reaction led to the ghost being incorporated into the Times Square battle directing the other ghosts.[1][2]
  • The Ring Leader Ghost appears on the IDW Convention Variant Cover of Ghostbusters 35th Anniversary: Answer The Call Ghostbusters.
