In Ghostbusters II the Deleted Scene: Sewer Invitation is a alternate scene to Fire-Trapped in the part when the boys come to Peter's place to invite him.

Peter Venkman was dressed up for his dinner with Dana Barrett. He paused at the sound of a knock on his front door and went to answer it. Peter opened the door to Ray Stantz, Egon Spengler and Winston Zeddemore in rubberized waders, fireman's slickers, and miners' helmets, and carrying lots of equipment. Peter wanted to guess first and joked all-you-can-eat barbecue rib night at the Sizzler. Winston stated they were going into the sewers. Winston and Egon exchanged looks. Ray informed him they were going into the sewer system to see if they could trace the source of the psycho-reactive slime flow. Peter pretended to be disappointed his dinner conflicted with their expedition. Egon assured Peter he did not want to miss out because there was going to be a tremendous breeding surge in the cockroach population. Peter was "impressed." Egon told him they brought him a set of gear to change into. He called out to Dana and asked if they should cancel dinner and go into the sewers with them. The guys nodded. Dana stepped into the living room in a beautiful green dress and greeted them. Winston stated Peter was not coming. Ray greeted Dana then looked down at the floor. Peter conceded they should have given him a head's up sooner. He closed the door.

- In the August 5, 1988 Draft, on page 58, Egon and Ray arrive at Lane Walker's apartment to take Peter underground to investigate the surge in insects. Peter's 'All you can eat' line first appears.
- In the September 29, 1988 draft
- On page 70, Egon, Ray, and Winston arrive outside Peter's door to invite him to their sewer investigation. Peter guesses an all-you-can-eat barbecue at Sizzler.
- In the November 27, 1988 draft:
- On page 86 to 87, the Ghostbusters knock on Peter's front door then invite him to the sewer investigation. Egon thinks there could be a roach surge because animals and lower life forms often anticipate major disasters.
- After this scene in both the September 29 and November 27 drafts, Janine Melnitz and Louis Tully arrive to babysit.
- The scene of Peter dancing in the Bo Welch on-screen credit at the end of Chapter 28: World is Safe Again takes place right before the start of this deleted scene.
- Some of the aspects of this deleted scene are preserved in Chapter 17: Fire-Trapped:
- Peter's Sizzler joke.
- Ray alludes to the River of Slime.
