First images of the item appeared on February 20th 2016 on Dinosaur Dracula Facebook feed[1], which he noted came from ENM Sales & Services.
On June 26, 2016, Hostess Snacks' posted a promotion for its Key Lime Slime Twinkies which also included promotion for the movie. [2]

- On page 20 of Ghostbusters International #7, the Twinkie makes a non-canon cameo on the ground.
