Ghostbusters.net (previously known as Ghostbusters.org) is a well known Ghostbusters Community that is owned and maintained by Chad Paulson. Note that the previous namesake is used for a offshoot site now.
History[]
Ghostbusters.net started out as "GBCentral.com" and has a rich history with the community. In 2000, when Bill Emkow retired "The Ghostbusters Homepage", he gave over the Ghostbusters Message Board.[1] In the summer of 2001, the site had shut down the forum as it was moving to a temporary new system. That system was introduced on July 18, 2001. After September 11, 2001 the site instead made a list of links to help out in the aftermath of the tragedy. October 21, 2001 a stable new message board was opened.[2] Due to conflicts on the board, it was shut down on July 5, 2003[3], with a database reboot two days later. The Board also saw a change in presentation from a small layout, favoring large shoulders to a new fuller screen area for content.[4] Another minor update was down at the top of the Message Board in August of 2008 moving the to terror dogs and Message Board logo to the side and placing a large image of the four Ghostbusters blasting Stay Puft.[5]
The forum then continued activity til early 2012.[6]
In Early 2014 after Harold Ramis's passing, the site officially relaunched with the front page displaying sliders.[7] Also, most aspects of Ghostbusters.org were rebranded Ghostbusters.net. Ghostbusters.org did continue as a members/fans community outreach.
