Irving[1][2] was an audience member who volunteered to participate in a magic act but disappeared for real.

History[]

Some time ago, Irving volunteered to take part in the Great Spumoni's Cabinet of Mystery magic act.[3] However, Irving really did disappear and vanished into a strange dimension. Years passed but Irving never aged. Then in the 1980s, Irving encountered Peter Venkman and was freed soon after by Harry Houdini. Irving was concerned about his wife but was distraught when he learned the cost of a phone call went up from a dime to a quarter.

Trivia[]

  • While not exactly stated how long he was stuck in the Cabinet of Mystery, when Irving leaves he asks for a dime to call his wife on a pay phone. Winston tells him it costs a quarter now.[4] However, in the script (included on Disc Five of Volume Three from The Real Ghostbusters Complete Collection), Irving asks if Nixon was impeached, thus implying Irving went missing before Nixon resigned on August 9, 1974. Peter replied that it's been "over 10 years" since then.[5]
