The Real Ghostbusters[]

While in Alaska, Jim Venkman stumbled upon the block of black ice containing Hob Anagarak. He had the block taken to Laganuki and phoned the Ghostbusters for help. They arrived and with Jim utilized several dog sleds to travel between the nearest airfield and Laganuki. Keeping the block around was deemed too dangerous. After experiencing plasmo-etheric activity, the Ghostbusters set out the next morning to destroy the black ice but Jim secretly switched the real one with a fake. None the wiser, the Ghostbusters destroyed the fake and left Laganuki.

The obsidian that held the dormant Hob Anagarak ended up at remote Alaskan village located above the Arctic Circle. The Ghostbusters went on an investigative trip to Alaska to study the obsidian. Despite the environmental conditions, the obsidian was warm to the the touch.[3] As a precautionary measure, a P.K.E. Meter with remote transmission capability was left behind to monitor for any increased activity.[4]
