"But who's going to clean up the place?"

This article or section needs to be cleaned up to conform to a higher standard of article quality.

Specifics: Needs to be better thought over.

In the year 2009, in honor of the Ghostbusters 25th anniversary, and the release of Ghostbusters: The Video Game, the popular PlayStation-exclusive video game LittleBigPlanet received official Ghostbusters-themed downloadable add-on content. Consisting of several costumes and stickers, the content can be purchased from the PlayStation Store and used in the PlayStation 3 games LittleBigPlanet, LittleBigPlanet 2, and LittleBigPlanet Karting; and the PlayStation Vita game LittleBigPlanet Vita (stickers can't be used in Karting and Vita).

Costumes[]

Costumes, which may be purchased separately or in a "Costume Kit" bundle, include the following:

  • A Slimer Hat
  • A Stay Puft Marshmallow Man Costume
  • No Ghosts Costume
  • A Ghostbuster Costume

At launch, the costume kit was priced at $5.99, while the individual costumes were $1.99 each.[1]

Strangely, the Ghostbuster costume's hair does not belong to an official Ghostbuster, it may have been custom made for the costume. The Slimer Hat glows in the dark and there is also a lack of gloves replaced by a ghost trap. Stay Puft does not have a skin so it looks a bit unrealistic.

Stickers[]

The stickers included stylized versions of the terror dogs, Statue of Liberty, proton streams, and other iconic Ghostbusters imagery. In addition to stickers based upon older Ghostbusters cartoons and movies, it also contained stickers depicting characters from Ghostbusters: The Video Game, such as Pappy Sargassi and the Chef. The stickers are not sold separately and only come with the costumes.

Unofficial Content[]

One of the hallmarks of the LittleBigPlanet series is the ability for users to create their own levels and share them with others online. As expected, several Ghostbusters levels have been created by fans.[2] It should be noted that none of these levels are official. Only developer Media Molecule can create "official" levels, and while they have created officially-licensed levels based on Metal Gear Solid, The Muppets, and Pirates of the Carribean, they have not created official Ghostbusters levels.
