The Metropolitan Opera House is an opera house affiliated with the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts. It is located on Broadway at Lincoln Square in the Upper West Side of Manhattan in New York City.
History[]
During a performance of "Ride of the Valkyries," several Valkyries manifested. Peter Venkman and Egon Spengler happened to be in the audience. Peter saved the star, The Diva and Egon volunteered the Ghostbusters' services. They arrived at the opera house the next morning and began investigating. The team, without Peter, tracked the Valkyries to the roof then down to the boiler room. During the next performance, the building was sealed off to prevent the Valkyries from leaving with Peter. They opened one of the skylights, rigged a Trap near it, and captured the entities.
Egon later took Slimer to a performance at the Metropolitan Opera House. Slimer enjoyed it so much he took Egon's advice and put on his own concert.
In 1997, Banshee was sighted outside the Opera House around the Lincoln Center. The Extreme Ghostbusters responded to a late night call from a security guard and engaged the Banshee. Part of the Opera House's exterior was damaged in the failed bust.
