The Molecular Phase Amplifier[1] was a one-of-a-kind device quickly created to prevent Egon Spengler from discorporating completely.
History[]
After Egon Spengler was bit with the Destabilizer beams, during the bust on Arzun, an energy backlash destabilized Egon's molecular structure. Ray Stantz calculated $78,632 was required to build the Molecular Phase Amplifier and save Egon.[2] The rest of the team engaged in a marathon of bust after bust in under 24 hours. However, when it was used the Amplifier's energy waves reversed the polarity of the neutron flow of Egon's disintegrating wave structure and shifted him to the Netherworld.[3][4]
Trivia[]
- On page eight of Ghostbusters Volume 2 Issue #15, the Molecular Phase Amplifier makes a non-canon cameo on next to the counter.
