The Quasitronic Nuclear Inverter[1] is an ad hoc device invented by Len Wolfman to help the Ghostbusters and Captain Steel defeat Dr. Destructo.
History[]
When Dr. Destructo took over the Firehouse, he encased it in a force field. The Ghostbusters' equipment and Captain Steel's powers couldn't break the field. Since Len Wolfman would be the only other person besides Destructo to know the frequency, they turned to him for help. Len agreed and explained Destructo's force field was powered by nucleonic energy. He drew them the Quasitronic Nuclear Inverter. Captain Steel flew into the panel and took hold of the device. Egon fired the Inverter at the field. Once it was weakened enough, Captain Steel was able to shatter the field. Egon dropped off the Inverter as he, the other Ghostbusters, and Captain rushed off to stop Destructo.
Trivia[]
- On page six of Ghostbusters Volume 2 Issue #3, the Quasitronic Nuclear Inverter makes a non-canon cameo below Ron Alexander on the table.
