The Police Lieutenant is a police official who fielded a flurry of calls on New Year's Eve 1989.
History[]
On New Year's Eve 1989, at Midtown Central Police Precinct, the Lieutenant was conferring with another officer when a Police Sergeant interrupted him to take a call. The Lieutenant replied he was busy but the Sergeant insisted. The Lieutenant relented and asked what the call was about. The Sergeant revealed the Titanic arrived at Pier 34.
