In Ghostbusters II the Deleted Scene: We're Getting Nowhere Ray speaks to the Fire Captain about the situation at the Manhattan Museum of Art.

Ray Stantz approached the Fire Chief and asked him how it was going. The chief replied he had 100 firefighters trying to cut into the Psychomagnotheric Slime slime shell for three hours and they made no progress at all. He asked Ray what the hell was going on.

Trivia[]

  • In the November 27, 1988 draft and February 27, 1989 draft, on page 109, the Fire Captain tells the Ghostbusters the crews have been trying to cut the slime shell for three hours
  • The exterior of the Manhattan Museum of Art was filmed at the Alexander Hamilton U.S. Custom House at 1 Bowling Green in New York City.
  • The Fire Captain was the Fire Commissioner in the first movie.
  • The helmet the Fire Chief wears indicates his rank is Deputy Assistant Chief.
  • Ray refers to the Fire Chief as Chief McGrory. In the the first movie, Mayor Lenny called him "John." This would technically make his full name John McGrory.[1]
