The Washtub Focuser is an impromptu contraption created by Egon Spengler during the Ghostbusters' first encounter with Black Bart.
History[]
When the Spectral Well deflected the Proton Streams, the Ghostbusters were forced to temporarily withdraw into a saloon. Egon grabbed a washtub and held it above the counter for Black Bart to blast. The blast created four holes in the center of the tub. At Egon's instruction, the Ghostbusters placed their Particle Throwers through the holes and let the tub focus the streams so they could hit Black Bart. However, due to the nature of the tub, the streams were still weak and unable to completely confine Bart.

- On page 9 of Ghostbusters Annual 2018, in panel 5, by the Hohman's Black Low-Rise is the washtub used in "The Magnificent Five".
