The Great Defender Guards are a paramilitary organization founded by Egon Spengler to help defend Mars and make sure its citizens complied with the law.
History[]
When Egon Spengler arrived in the year 2060, he suffered adverse effects from the time displacement. He assumed the guise of the Great Defender and took control of Mars. Of the changes he made, one was the formation of a personal military. Their uniforms were loosely based on the Ghostbusters and their helmets even bore part of its No Ghost logo. More so, they guards were armed with Proton Packs and likely, other equipment associated with the team.
Most likely due to the power, intelligence, and results, the Guards blindly obey the Great Defender and aid in preserving what is essentially a dictatorship. When Peter Venkman, Ray Stantz, and Rachel Unglighter arrived and asked citizens about Egon, several of the Guards arrested them on the charge of "insufficient reverence."
