Not to be confused with Kylie Griffin from Extreme Ghostbusters

Kylie Griffin is the manager of Ray's Occult Books[1] and a Ghostbuster on the support staff.

History[]

IDW Comic Series[]

After Ray Stantz went back to active ghostbusting, he hired Kylie to run Ray's Occult. She took the job to help pay her way through college, but it didn't help at first.[2] On occasion, she would help out the Ghostbusters for extra money by researching ghosts for them in older texts.[3] Ultimately, she helped organize the store and increased profits. [4] After Walter Peck had the Ghostbusters' permits revoked, Ray attempted to get Kylie to help him look for loopholes in the team's contract with the city. Kylie refused to get involved with legal matters. Soon after, the Ghostbusters were dispatched to Fantastic Land to deal with an unknown threat. Kylie was tasked with compiling research in coordination with Ray and Egon. After scouring through several occult references for two and half hours then 40 minutes of simply sifting through data related to Poughkeepsie, Kylie identified the entity from the updated Bilderberg Guide and called up Ray to inform him about the Hungry Manitou. During the summer, Kylie assisted Ray in conducting research on the entities of the southwest to try and make a match with the Roswell Army Ghosts. She couldn't locate an exact match based on Ray's description and theorized the ghosts were camouflaging themselves with local lore. Ray agreed and promised to give Kylie a raise.

In February, Kylie was brought in by Janine to help with trying to find the Ghostbusters after they were abducted by demonic forces. Walter Peck justified leaving Kylie on the team because she was thoroughly vetted by PCOC due to her close working relationship with the Ghostbusters and she had extensive experience in paranormal research. After three months or so, Kylie identified The Collectors as the demons who took the original team and attempted to run some slime samples through Egon's Ecto Mass Spec. but didn't get anything conclusive. While out on a case in Central Park, Kylie took point and tracked Gareth Dibello with a Giga meter. Once Special Agent Melanie Ortiz wrangled Dibello, Kylie trapped him. Back at the Firehouse, Kylie answered a call at the front desk from Dr. Cleese, pertaining to Janosz Poha and his arcane designs. Kylie scheduled a consult for the next day in the afternoon and believed it was a promising lead on the Ghostbusters' disappearance.

Kylie took the Ecto-1a to Parkview Psychiatric Hospital for her consultment. The readings she took of the Gozerian lettering with a Ecto-Visor and her P.K.E. Meter were promising. However, she wasn't keen on Dr. Cleese's patronizing concern for her age and skills. After Kylie told him off, she demanded to see Janosz. She quickly determined a possessing presence and attempted to communicate with it but was interrupted by a call from Janine. Kylie assured Janine the Grendel would be a pushover and went back to trying to talk to Poha's possessor. Kylie was interrupted again. She quickly advised Janine to stand up to the Grendel and running would only make it stronger. Kylie hung up and turned her ringer off just as Janosz started to levitate. Things got much worse when the Gozerian began to glow violently. She called up Janine and learned the original Ghostbusters were back. Kylie put two and two together and asked for Egon Spengler.

Kylie came to realize Idulnas was cheating the conditions of summoning the Collectors. She was able to drive a wedge between Janosz and Idulnas by appealing to Janosz' dislike of being used as patsy again by a supernatural being. Janosz regained control of his body and demanded paint so he could alter the spell. Janosz changed the target from the Ghostbusters to Idulnas. Kylie watched as Collector violently extracted Idulnas from Janosz and vanished. Kylie remained a Ghostbuster and helped out when the others were too busy to go out on a bust. In her exploits, she encountered a Braided Hair Ghost and a Sandman. Kylie hired her friend Eduardo Rivera, who Peter thought was a functional illiterate but Kylie claimed he could read, to watch over Ray's Occult when she was out on a bust. She and Peter went to Mamaroneck and encountered a Phantom Train Conductor riding a massive steam train construct. Kylie attempted to get time and half for the gig, then 30% but Peter held firm at 10%. Kylie wasn't so sure the bust was a two person job but Peter easily remedied the situation with a Proton Bazooka. Peter and Kylie wrangled the defenseless ghost and trapped him. Kylie asked for 50% in exchange for not telling Egon he was not the first to fire the bazooka. Peter concluded it would good for Egon to have a little heart break and left Kylie to haul the bazooka back to the car.

Later in the summer, Janine consulted Kylie at Ray's Occult. Janine wanted to be sure nothing was left behind after Egon and Roger rescued her. However, there wasn't much material out there on the subject. They were interrupted by Peter who wanted Kylie to tag along on a bust. She called up Ray to ask him what they were dealing with. Unwilling to take rare books aboard a boat, Kylie stopped at a photocopy store while Peter idled in a taxi cab for one hour. They then met up with Ray at the Warehouse and disembarked. Kylie piloted the Marine Ecto-8. After one hour, they found the John Milton. The ice around the ship was solid so they walked over to the ship. After some thought, Kylie simply shot a hole in the ship. Just after she noticed the whole ship gave off active readings, they were surrounded. Based on earlier P.K.E. readings hinting the ship construct was bigger than it seemed, Kylie suddenly shot the floor beneath everyone. The trio fell into a massive ice cavern and confronted the ghost of Francis Harding. After they blasted away his giant ice form, Kylie wrangled the ghost in a stream while Ray trapped him. While Peter and Ray took the ghost to his father's grave, Kylie monitored the John Milton aboard Ecto-8. She witnessed it take off and flew into the sky.

On October 29, Kylie and Peter went on several calls. They engaged the ghost of Maud S. at the Grand Central Station's 60 East 42nd Street entrance at the Vanderbilt Avenue cross section. Peter saved Kylie from being doused in oral ejection but he himself got slimed. After Kylie chuckled at his expense, they captured Maud. On October 30, there was a sudden flash of Red Lightning during the day. Kylie oddly felt an impulse to break something. She was distracted by the return of Melanie Ortiz, now a liaison between the FBI and Ghostbusters. Kylie and the original Ghostbusters went out on calls. At Central Park, Kylie donned an Ecto-Visor and observed the Ghost Fire Wall was not fire at all and composed of ghosts. On November 2, the Day of the Dead, Kylie was on a call with Peter and Winston. Outside the 83rd Police Precinct, they captured a Constable Ghost. They hurried to Central Avenue and Bleecker Street to help the others deal with Santa Muerte. Nonchalantly, Kylie threw out a Trap and captured two of the three projections of the entity.

On December 9, Kylie was on duty at Ray's Occult Books with Ray when he received a phone call from Egon, who was in Rhinebeck. She retrieved a Tobin's Spirit Guide, the latest Spates Catalog, Spectral Almanac, Moreci Bestiary, McGee's Coopted Paganism, and the New England Grimoire. They closed up shop and spent hours researching instances of recurrent child hauntings and supernatural abductions in the last 50 years. While looking through the Spectral Almanac, Kylie noticed a major pattern. She presented her findings at the company meeting later in the day. While she confirmed there was a definite rise in aggressive spirits with Bogeyman-like tendencies, Kylie believed they were just vultures circling before the big event took place. Because the Red Lightning could affect individuals up to their early twenties, Egon had Kylie hooked up to the Aura Video-Analyzer to collect data and confirm his suspicions the lightning was connected to the Bogeymen and encouraging naughty behavior. Kylie was annoyed when Melanie was preparing to tease her but became concerned when Egon theorized the Bogeymen wanted to feed on those affected by the lightning. Kylie wrote a paper on the pattern of bogeyman-related manifestations and was published by Parapsychological Journal of North America.[5]

Kylie was part of the team that filled in for the Ghostbusters during the wedding of Winston Zeddemore and Tiyah Clarke. During the ceremony, the team responded to a call from Bates CPA, PC. Kylie immediately recognized the ghost as the Five Points Killer and devised a strategy to free the victims from its hold. She called the ghost a coward and fired towards it. It worked and the ghost flew up to the next floor, forcibly severing its hold. Rookie and Kylie quickly escorted the victims to safety then rejoined Melanie and Ron. Rookie confined the ghost and Kylie trapped it. Kylie waived the usual surcharge for violent manifestations and handed the bill to Mr. Crook but suddenly Blood Rain came down on New York City. The next day, Melanie and Kylie were dispatched by Janine to investigate Dana's Apartment. Kylie took readings of the apartment but found nothing out of the ordinary. However, the hair on the back of her neck stood right on end. As a precaution, Kylie recommended Dana Barrett to stay a few days at the Waltz-Partington Hotel downtown. Her uncle, Carrol, was the manager and owed her a lot so the room would be free.[6] After noticing a connection between Dana and Eduardo, Kylie conducted research on Tiamat. Kylie agreed with Eduardo's opinion it was time to bring Ray into the case despite Dana's wishes to keep the investigation quiet.

A couple weeks later, Kylie remained behind with Egon while the others investigated a P.K.E. surge on Hart Island. They ran tests on Dana and Louis to make sure the Terror Birds weren't still in possessing them. Kylie observed Louis's core temperature was way off, had two heartbeats and kept asking her if she was old enough to know about itemizing. Egon and Kylie agreed the Terror Birds were still in possession of Dana and Louis. With no explanation, Kylie advised them to strip down. When they refused, Egon doused them in positively charged Psychomagnotheric Slime. Kylie became concerned when the slime dissolved upon contact. Concern became irritation when Egon revealed his plan was to try to stun the Terror Birds with the Arm Mounted Proton Packs without injuring the hosts. In reaction to Ray's possession, Kylie evacuated Dana and Louis downstairs. Kylie wanted to help but Winston insisted she was their "back up Ray" and inquired about her research on Tiamat. Kylie revealed there was one school of thought that thought the old gods could be appeased through human sacrifice. Winston assigned Kylie to keep an eye on Dana and Louis in case they transform into something again. The Gozer possessed Ray descended the stairs in search of his imprisoned essence. Kylie stood up to Gozer and fired a Proton Stream. Gozer grabbed the stream and yanked it, launching Kylie into the rear of Ecto-1b and rendering her unconscious. Janine called an ambulance for her.

Kylie was taken to a hospital and stitched up. She woke up with a headache and stayed overnight for observation. After being cleared, Kylie resumed her duties as manager of Ray's Occult and researching for the Ghostbusters. On August 29, Kylie and Peter aided Melanie with clearing Florida's St. Augustine Lighthouse of an infestation of Ghost Alligators. A couple months later, while the Ghostbusters busted a Class 5 ghost, Janine called Kylie to the Firehouse to examine the newly built Dimensional Inverter. After going over it with a KUD meter and checking the guys' notes, Kylie determined the device had detected a potential Class 7 on the East Side. When Janine simply told the guys Kylie said a "big ping," Kylie got annoyed. Kylie pulled as many books as she thought could be of use and returned to the Firehouse. Following the Madison Square Garden battle, the Thralls of Chi-You reminded Kylie of the Terror Birds but Egon didn't think the thralls were possessed the same way and using a Trap at close range would do more harm to the victims than good.

Ray was impressed with April's knack for engineering and enthusiastically advised her to change her major. Kylie urged Ray to calm down. As Ray calibrated the Electromagnetic Pulse Emitter, Kylie monitored his progress with a gadget. Once it was properly calibrated, Kylie verified. Ray had April reconnect the power. However, Chi-You arrived in the laboratory and attacked the trio. Luckily, Casey activated the pulse emitter. Kylie came to on a cot and brought out her P.K.E. Meter. Peter and Winston arrived and confined Chi-You but it wasn't enough. Chi-You possessed Winston. Ray reached for the Miniature Slime Blower and fired. Chi-You ducked the Psychomagnotheric Slime and kicked Ray in the face. As the battle continued into the main section of the second floor, April found Ray unconscious. Kylie brought out a first aid kit and bandaged his head. After Chi-You was trapped, Kylie saw the Turtles family off with the others in the basement.

Kylie went to the Firehouse and was bewildered by the presence of parallel versions of Peter Venkman and Winston Zeddemore. Her mind drifted to the notion there could be mirror duplicates of her and Janine, too. The thought of two Peters, in particular, was daunting and she mused she would have nightmares about it. As Ray assured them that the biometric information compiled would aid in the search for the home dimension, Kylie noticed he forgot to carry the two again in his calculations and alerted him. After Ray gathered new information and P.K.E. readings from the home dimension of the alternate version of the Ghostbusters, Egon called up Kylie at Ray's Occult and had her bring any books about Proteus that were on hand. As the Ghostbusters combed through the literature, Ray happened upon a passage that stated Proteus disliked being captured and when he was, he had to give a glimpse of the future. Kylie found a passage that stated the last recorded sighting of Proteus, in their dimension, was near what is now Doliana, Greece around 200 BCE. He was arguing philosophy with a goat. In an hour, Kylie was concerned when the alarm for a dimensional breach went off. She checked the Miniature Inverter and saw the location of the breach was outside on Varick and Moore. The Cerberus Manifestation came crashing through onto the second floor. While the alternate Peter joked about using Peter's bald spot as a distraction, Kylie realized the manifestation had to have enough P.K.E. to be affected by a Trap. She voice activated the Wall-Trap and the Ghostbusters reunited with the others downstairs.

Kylie made a bet with Ray about how long the manifestation would take. She won by five seconds and earned two weeks vacation with pay. As the Ghostbusters fired on the manifestation, Kylie retrieved the Megatrap from a footlocker and declared it was more reliable against it. However, it was too heavy to slide so she had to get closer. The alternate Winston Zeddemore yelled at everyone to cut their streams. Kylie insisted she knew what she was doing then was tripped by the manifestation's tail. It loomed over Kylie and growled... playing right into her hands. She opened the Megatrap and captured enough P.K.E. to reduce its corporeal form into a bunch of ash. And she was covered in it. As she got up, Kylie shared she noticed the manifestation got really perked up when it caught the scent of the alternate Ghostbusters. Before they could be sent home, Proteus had arrived. Kylie ran to Janine's desk as Proteus fired at the Ghostbusters. Janine impulsively threw her paperweight at his head. Proteus retaliated by blasting her and Kylie. They found themselves in Tokyo. The duo made their way to the Embassy of the United States in Tokyo for help getting back to New York. Janine and Kylie faced a bureaucratic gauntlet of paperwork in order to return home. They finally returned home shortly after the Ghostbusters encountered the Sandman on Staten Island.

One night, on the way home, Kylie went to Egon's Apartment and dropped off several books, including the expanded Spates Catalog and three volumes of Kemp's Paranormal Encyclopedia, and six month's worth of citywide P.K.E. scan logs per his request. Kylie was curious why he wanted all the material for but Egon insisted he just needed something to occupy his mind while he recovers from an injury caused by the Werecat Ghost. Before she could further inquire, Egon hurried her out on the pretext he was waiting for a delivery from a new Moroccan restaurant down the block. Kylie was irritated and became hungry for Moroccan. The next week, Kylie was on duty at Ray's Occult and received a call from Egon. He asked if the store still had a copy of "The Johansen Argument." Kylie quickly asked if it had to do with his 'project.' She admitted to not seeing the book in awhile and checked the clearance bin. Before she could finish telling him the copy sold, Kylie was hung up on.

Kylie helped out on the day of open interviews at the Firehouse. At Janine's behest, Kylie started sending in applicants. Two hours later, Kylie returned to check on Janine and Jenny's progress and provided them with Pequod's. Kylie got mad at Janine after she made her trap the ghost of a sad dog crying outside a supposedly no-kill shelter.[7] Melanie informed Janine she wanted to borrow Egon and Kylie for a FBI investigation that just came up in Puerto Rico. She gave Melanie two cases, one at The Olympia Restaurant in the Bronx and one in Harlem, to work with them while she was in town for the day and suggested she ask them for their help then.

On May 12, Kylie went to Cayey with Melanie and Egon for her investigation. She was relieved to feel the hospital's air conditioning. Kylie was agitated by the attending physician Dr. Quienes after he jokingly wrote her a prescription for Clozapine after she revealed they were the Ghostbusters. After Melanie spoke with the ghost's most recent victim, Miguel Castillo, Kylie recognized one of the two entities mentioned as a local legend, the Cigar Factory Ghost Dog but speculated the other sounded like La Llorona from Mexican mythology. A few hours later, give or take, they finished searching 99% of the places the ghost was reportedly seen. Kylie began to complain the jet lag was getting to her even though they were in the same time zone as New York. Kylie suddenly got an active reading near a river. The ghost of Esme Torres warped her reflection on the surface and dragged Kylie underwater. She opened fire and blasted it above surface. They regrouped and chased after the ghost. The ghost possessed the earth, formed a giant arm and hand, and grabbed Kylie. Melanie realized the ghost only attacked people of university-level age. Kylie reached for her Trap release. The possessed earth interfered with the pull of the Trap and Torres appeared. Melanie and Egon opened fire and wrangled her. She was almost strong enough to break free since Egon was using an Arm Mounted Proton Pack but he threw out a Trap and captured her. Kylie was still trapped in the debris of the earth. They found the Ghost Dog and determined it was harmless. It even manifested and allowed Kylie to pet it. Back in New York, Kylie performed follow up research and identified the ghost as Esme Torres.

While Jenny made arrangements with Erland Vinter's people to send equipment to Ireland, Kylie escorted the basic gear on a flight from New York City. She arrived first and procured a rental car then waited in the Shannon Airport parking lot. Peck, Peter, Ray, and Winston met up with her. She drove them to the home of Una O'Neill near Killaloe. After hearing Una's story about Aibell, Kylie interjected and noted she didn't bring equipment suited to take on a god. On Peck's orders, Kylie and Peter went to search for Aibell's home to negotiate on Una's behalf. Armed with a pair of Ecto Goggles and extensive lore on Craig Liath, Kylie easily located the entrance. Aibell didn't appreciate uninvited guests but took a liking to Peter. Before Kylie could stop him, Peter agreed to Aibell's proposal. She teleported them to Una's property and forcibly released her captured Banshee from a Trap. Aibell made a cryptic statement about seeing them again and left. Winston realized Peter did something stupid. Kylie confirmed.

Peter volunteered Melanie and Kylie to search Egon's apartment. After a quick scan, Kylie verified there wasn't anything in the way of P.K.E. readings. Melanie found Egon's recorder and played it. Kylie heard mention of a Logbook 2714 and found it on a shelf. However, she could make heads or tails of it and noted Ray often got confused by Egon's notes, too. Kylie admitted only Egon could make sense of it then came up with a crazy idea. She proposed they ask the parallel Egon they met recently for help. Kylie, Jenny, and Melanie waited in the basement for Peter, Winston, and Janine to return with him. A Granny Gross was attracted to the portal and crossed over. While Melanie distracted it, Kylie and Jenny ran for the stairs to get some equipment. By the time they got back to the basement, the ghost was already trapped. Peter, Winston, Janine, and parallel Egon had arrived. While everyone processed Kaia's revelation and new demands from Vinter, Kylie wondered if there was a way they could get the Rauoskinna, get Egon back, and then simply blow the book up. Peter had Ray, Kylie, and parallel Egon go over the list of possible locations of the key and map to the book.

Kylie went to Japan with the Chicago Ghostbusters and entered the Aokigahara Forest in search of the Map to Nikulausson's Tomb. Kylie wasn't keen on antagonizing the forest's local ghosts and was irritated with Ron's errant shot. She was further angered when she learned Ron refined his atomizing stream and added it to the Chicago team's equipment. Despite tracking their query's reading to an ominous cave, Kylie went inside with Rookie and their local guide. Kylie found the map in a small chest but its guardian spirit possessed the guide and ordered them to leave the map or they would die. Kylie made use of her photographic memory and quickly studied the map then told the ghost it won. She threw the map onto Rookie's Proton Stream. The ghost gave them permission to leave but decided to keep the guide. Kylie took a gamble and opened a Trap. The ghost was trapped but the guide fell from mid-air. 36 hours later, back at the Firehouse, Kylie finished redrawing the map with a fuchsia crayon and didn't take kindly to Ray and Peter's nitpicks.

After the Ghostbusters secured possession of the Rauoskinna, Ray and Kylie spent a day and a half quickly going through the book and picking out pages they thought were relevant then planned to start sorting. Kylie quickly got the sense that Bishop Gottskalk Nikulausson was insane and the book was just a stream-of-consciousness. Jenny almost read one of the dangerous spells aloud but Kylie rushed over and covered her mouth. Kylie suited up and took part in the Ghostbusters' meeting with Loftur in Central Park. Things took a turn when Jenny cast a spell from the Rauoskinna to combat Loftur but they were all transported to Hell instead. The Devil was pleased to finally have Loftur's soul after centuries of being eluded and decided to let the Ghostbusters leave but he wouldn't say how. Kylie recalled Ray mentioning Dante from "Dante's Inferno" and noted there were direct parallels in the Third Edition of "Romero's Spectral Atlas." She believed all they had to do was follow the River Styx to its endpoint. They entered an ice cavern and started climbing down. Aibell sensed the power of the Rauoskinna and transported everyone to Craig Liath. Kylie realized where they were. Aibell called in her favor. Kylie reiterated to Peter she still thought making deals with Faeries was a bad idea. Peter gave the book after Aibell restored Egon but Jenny destroyed the book. Aibell vaporized Jenny then angrily sent everyone else back to Central Park.

While assessing another case, this time in Iowa, Melanie ran into a hostile entity. She was unable to contract anyone from the Chicago Ghostbusters so she asked for Ray and Kylie. She gave Kylie the coordinates of the construction site she was investigating. Kylie discovered they matched up with the farm of a deceased serial killer named Ethan Alder and started her research in "Horrors of the Midwest". Several hours later, Peter and Kylie arrived. Evidently, Kylie grew tired of Peter's Music Man references during the flight. Kylie briefed Melanie on Alder and his methods. The Sheriff of Roarke's Junction recognized the name and recalled he was caught in the act then shot in 1964 then the locals made sure the news never hit the national airwaves. That night, the ghost was engaged by Peter. Melanie and Kylie fired their streams at it then Peter trapped it. Kylie took on extra college courses and had less time to research for the Ghostbusters and Melanie.[8]

Peter decided to play a prank on Egon, Ray, and Kylie at the Firehouse. He hid a walkie talkie behind the research tank. As Peter instructed them, the 101 class inquired about the origin of Slimer. Egon Spengler and Kylie Griffin acknowledged there was a lot of theories about it. Kylie thought he was probably an employee in his past life since he was anchored to the hotel. She speculated he was probably a chef given his obsession with food and envisioned a scenario where he died of a heart attack after a complaint about his Beef Tartare left him enraged. Egon disagreed and speculated he could have been a vagrant due to his anti social behavior and a fixation on food. Ray didn't think the ghost was ever human and was simply a representational force given form. He cited from Funder's Cults of the Northeast. Peter proceeded with his prank and pretended to be Slimer on the walkie. Egon, Kylie, and Ray thought Slimer claimed he was once a king in his past life. They took the bait and scrambled to document what just happened. Janine called Kylie at her apartment in Queens and alerted her of a Class Five entity on the loose. She suited up and suggested a nap to Pagan. He was annoyed.

A week after an incident on Coney Island, Kylie interrupted Ray on the second floor while he was an hour and a half into lecturing Cait Banner, Evan Torres, and Zoe Zawadzki on the 7-level classification system. She informed Ray he was needed for a meeting downstairs. Ray bemoaned he just got to the good part. Kylie added Peck was present and twitchy. Ray conceded and promised to resume his lecture later on. Kylie asked the teenagers if they wanted to see something cool. They all raised their hands. She sneaked them down into the basement and pointed out the Containment Unit first, as well as warning them not to touch it. She presented the Interspatial Teleportation Unit but they were unimpressed. Annoyed with their comments, Kylie turned on the unit and opened a portal then stuck her hand through it. Their attitudes took a sudden turn and they peppered her with questions. Kylie explained how Egon built it with Donatello so he and his brothers could get back to their home dimension then confirmed they limited their studies to alternate versions of New York where they observed many versions of very similar Ghostbusters. Kylie warned them not ask Ray about it unless they had a day to kill but the approach of a ghost from the other dimension interrupted her. She raced back to the console and shut down the portal in time to prevent it from crossing over then explained the open portal could lure ghosts to it since the same psychokinetic energy that makes up ghosts also basically made up the insulation between dimensions. She led them upstairs to reveal the secrets of the third floor refrigerator. Kylie appeared in the Ray's Occult segment of the Ghostbusters 101 commercial.

A couple weeks later, after the appearance of twin Statues of Liberty and another team of Ghostbusters, a meeting was held at the Firehouse. Readings taken confirmed their respective dimensions were in a state of overlap. Ray and Egon explained their team's exploration of the Multiverse and how they may have influenced it with the idea of Ghostbusters when they crossed the streams on the Temple of Gozer years ago. Patty Tolan recognized the name "Zuul" and addressed the implication her team would soon face Gozer in their New York. Kylie shared research that indicated Gozer was a one-of-a-kind unique multiversal being and even if it did manifest in their dimension, it would only be an echo. Jillian Holtzmann interrupted by pinching Kylie's cheek and telling her the adults were talking. Kylie presented some of the usual references used in investigations to Abby Yates, including Spates Catalog, Tobin's Spirit Guide, The Henderson Manual on Dimensional Breaches, The Schoening Omnibi, and Ley Lines: of North America. Abby recognized the Ley Lines book and asked her if she ever heard of "Ghosts From Our Past" but she didn't. Egon returned with a box full of equipment. Abby tried the Scanner and noticed there was a build-up of P.K.E. that should release an amount of pressure large enough to rock the Firehouse. The Firehouse was rocked. Kylie called that a jinx. Equipment from the other dimension's Firehouse appeared in the office area downstairs. Kevin Beckman came up on comms and asked if he should start tagging their equipment to avoid any confusion later on. He referred to Kylie as "Tiny Goth." She declared she didn't like him.

Kylie participated in the interview of the 101 pilot team. She used the KUD Meter to scan them for ectoplasmic residue. Garrett inquired what she was looking for. She stated the residue could locate the Bronx Spook. Garrett insisted he washed it all off. Kylie was amused. Abby told him ectoplasm seeped in and stuck around for awhile, causing Erin Gilbert to freak out. Garrett became concerned. Kylie assured him it was mostly harmless and they had a way of extracting it. She asked the teens if they brought their clothes from that day. Egon, Ray, and Kylie concluded it was a three-part problem. They had to sever the ghost's connection to the Manhattan Ley Lines, pull it fully into their dimension and trap it, and seal the breach behind it. Erin returned to the lab with Abby, who had an idea to re-purpose their Containment Unit. They transferred its contents out and dismantled it for the hastily constructed Ultimate Mobile Trap prototype. Kylie continued work on it while Ray explained the plan to Peter, Winston, Patty and Holtzmann. To Abby's annoyance, Kylie confirmed they had slime to sever the ghost's connection. Kylie repeated their theory everything should return to its normal frequency once the ghost was trapped.

Kylie suggested several of the Ghostbusters should take standby positions on some roof tops above Times Square just in case the ghost resisted and needed to be "guided" out of the breach. Kylie finished programming the Ultimate Mobile Trap's horn to sound like Debarge per Holtzmann's request just as Melanie arrived. Melanie asked Kylie to explain what was going on with the Ley Lines, annoying blondes, and duplicate monuments. Kylie admitted she was stupid and showed Ray's 101 pilot team the teleportation unit then they played with it and trapped a ghost between two dimensions. Melanie remembered she told Ray to get better security for the teleportation unit. Kylie continued and explained they used the other Ghostbusters' Containment Unit to build a larger and more powerful trap then Egon tuned it to the overlapping frequency of the other dimension to pull the ghost out of where it was stuck. Melanie asked it the plan was going to fix everything. Kylie stated it had to or they were all screwed. She checked her watch and estimated the 101 Cadets were a good way through neutralizing Manhattan's Ley Lines and it was time to leave. Abby and Holtzmann took off in the Mobile Trap by themselves citing they were the professionals and she was a bookstore manager. Kylie declared she now knew hatred and Holtzmann was worse than Ron. Beckman introduced himself to Melanie and asked if she met "Kevin Jr." yet. Kylie explained he meant Slimer.

Kylie went out on a call with Egon and Ray but was annoyed to see Ron tagging along. They arrived at Grand Central Station. She explained PCOC and the city came up with an evacuation protocol named "Code Dan" and she used it to completely clear out the station. Ron bragged Chicagoans wouldn't comply with that and probably couldn't spell "evacuate." Kylie bet they loved Ron out in Chicago. She suddenly got a ping on her P.K.E. Meter. She quickly turned and fired but Connla contorted his body and dodged the stream. He mistook it for magic and asked them if they were druids. Ray nicknamed him "Sammy" after the festival of Samhain but Ron pointed out that was weeks away. Connla agreed but admitted the veil was so thin, he couldn't resist acting early then punched Ron. Ray and Egon joked at his expense. Egon blew Connla's head off with a Proton Grenade. Kylie wrangled his body with a stream and Ron trapped him. To their surprise, Connla broke out of the Trap. He was insulted he was attacked from behind and entrapped before they even knew his real name. He grabbed Kylie by the throat, reformed his head, enlarged his size, then became inflamed. Ron fired an atomizing stream and dispersed him. Kylie fell to the ground and read him the riot act. She pointed out the thing they couldn't trap would reconstitute in a few days having absorbed the city's ambient psychokinetic energy. Egon regretfully agreed dispersal was the right play and bought them time to come up with a permanent solution. Ray asked who was going to call Peck and inform him of the mess. The station was covered in Yellow Slime. Kylie quickly replied "not it."

As a result of being in direct contact during the dispersal, a latent mental link was forged. In the few days before Connla's reconstitution, Kylie had a precognitive dream while she slept in the Ray's Occult Books office. In the dream, she and the four original Ghostbusters came upon high readings that kept climbing and shorted out a P.K.E. Meter left over from the Real Ghostbusters of Dimension 68-R. Connla's Army surrounded them and began to swarm. As they discussed fictional detectives, Connla appeared. He agreed it was going to be a long night and knocked the Ghostbusters off their feet. He declared the veil to the other side would open permanently, more armies would come, and night would last forever. He dropped Kylie into his head. She awoke and went to the Firehouse to share details of the dream with the others. Egon noticed strange readings picked up by the Dream Analyzer Helmet but lied to her they were normal to assuage her fears. Kylie admitted she felt physical sensations during the dream. Egon asserted no matter what, they took dreams seriously. Peter contended he never took his seriously. Janine added they all learned that lesson already. Peter brought up the ghost had an Irish accent and hinted at a connection to Kylie like with Janine and the Draguar. Egon doubted it. Kylie revealed her great-grandfather chose her family's surname when he immigrated to America because it had a good ring to it. [9] She realized something and ran off to double check her theory. Janine yelled out to leave the helmet on the front desk. She sighed and reckoned Ray had too much of an influence on her. Peter thought Egon was more to blame. With knowledge of the army coming, Egon went to work preparing for the possibility. He dug out a Remote Portal Access Band from a box.

After a few subway stops, Kylie returned to Ray's Occult and confirmed her theory the ghost was Connla. He had a real sticking point with his name, was quick to fight, and wore a ring. She called up Ray's cell phone and informed him of the good news. On Friday, after 3 pm, the Ghostbusters, Ron, and Kylie flew to Liberty Island in Murdock's helicopter. Kylie shared her findings and admitted the legend she keyed onto was based on a piece of truth or the essence of the ghost itself absorbed and imprinted the retellings into an identity. She joked he was Rumplestiltskin then went on to reveal she thought he was the son of Cuchullain. She asked Egon's friend to leave as soon as possible. He pointed out they would be stranded. She contended the helicopter was loud and she wanted to make sure Connla heard her. Ron fired into the mist but tons of ghosts emerged from it. Kylie recognized the ghosts from her dream. Ron wanted her to hurry up because he didn't want to die on a landmark. Kylie readied a Trap and called out to him. Connla couldn't believe she knew his real name because it was never written and recorded. He extended his fingers into the ground. They emerged and grabbed everyone. Kylie hit the pedal and began to reel Connla into the Trap. He called out to his army to help him. To their surprise, the ghosts tried to pull Connla out. Peter and Winston threw out two more Traps. Connla ordered the ghosts to destroy the Ghostbusters then free him. Kylie realized more and more ghosts were being summoned and they didn't have enough Traps. She regretted sending the helicopter away. Egon assured her it was fine. He used his access band and teleported away then returned with the rest of the Chicago Ghostbusters, the Real Ghostbusters of Dimension 68-R, the Extreme Ghostbusters of Dimension 68-E, the Ghostbusters of Dimension 50-S, the Ghostbusters of Dimension 80-C, and Mike the Golem joined the battle. Ron was even more jealous of the technology but Holtzmann claimed she had first dibs on it. Kylie wasn't so sure spreading the technology was a good idea. The Kylie Griffin of 68-E agreed and joked the next step would be a convention. She agreed.

Kylie went with Peter and Winston on a bust to the Tai Hong Lau Restaurant. Phyllis Hasskamp manifested and was throwing food all over the dining room. After it dodged Peter's Proton Stream and descended down through the floor, Kylie checked her P.K.E. Meter and confirmed it was still around. Peter decided to be the bait and took a spring roll off a plate. Kylie couldn't believe he was eating off other peoples' plates. Winston reminded her the customers weren't coming back. Peter gave the food a glowing review and declared he was recommending the restaurant to everyone. Hasskamp returned and threw more food. Kylie couldn't believe there was so much to use. Winston wrangled her but she transmogrified and threatened to light the place on fire. Kylie threw out the Trap. She warned Winston he was going to start sounding too critical like Hasskamp if he wasn't careful. Winston countered he wasn't critical. Kylie joked Marines were known to be easygoing when things blew up. Two days later, Kylie attended the meeting of Ghostbusters at the Warehouse.

A field team consisting of Ray, Samuel Hazer of Dimension 50-S, Peter Venkman of Dimension 68-R, Kylie Griffin of Dimension 68-E, Erin Gilbert of Dimension 80-C, and Kylie arrived in search of a ghost in Dimension 00-D. Kylie noticed they were in a rather gloomy forest. Samuel thought the Kylies would feel right at home since it was so gloomy. They didn't and messed with him. Kylie teased sunshine was her jam. The other Kylie couldn't believe she had "my jam" in her vocabulary. Ray asked them to stop. Eventually, Erin asked if they had any indication of what they were after, recalling her team was assigned to a mid-level Class 3. Samuel was excited about what it could be and proposed a betting pool. Kylie informed Ray that's what he sounded like all the time. Ray denied the notion he would start a pool. Erin noticed the sound of hoofbeats. The Headless Horseman arrived, grabbed Peter 68-R by the hair, and rode off. Ray recalled when his team captured it outside of Tarrytown four or five years prior. Kylie requested he tell the story after they recovered Peter 68-R. The others ran after them. After following glowing hoof prints for half an hour, the Ghostbusters found a broken Trap-Gate. Ray declared they must have passed through but he was oblivious to Kylie 68-E's sarcastic comment. Kylie informed her of such. Peter 68-R, possessed by the Horseman, charged towards them. Kylie recalled from Tobin's Spirit Guide that the longer the Horseman was in possession of his victim, the more the host's soul would be eaten away at. Ray directed everyone to switch to low-power streams and blast him in an alternating burst pattern. Peter 68-R was knocked off the horse.

They surrounded the Horseman but it attacked with its pumpkin constructs. Erin kicked herself for not bringing the De-Possessor. Ray recalled he wanted to check that out since Holtzmann couldn't tell him how it was calibrated not to harm the body's native spirit. Kylie got him back on track to the task at hand. Ray employed Psychomagnotheric Slime but it resisted and leaped at Samuel. but found itself paralyzed in mid-air. The Ghostbusters Beyond of 00-D, namely a splinter of the divine half of Rachel Unglighter and Louis Tully of Dimension 00-D had intervened. Rachel concentrated and used her magic to safely draw out the Horseman out of Peter 68-R and into a Trap Orb. Kylie got Rachel's attention and stated they needed the ghost. Rachel and Louis were resistant, at first, to turning the Horseman over. Kylie got alarmed when Ray's eyes went all white. After seeing Ray's memories, Rachel changed her mind and transferred the Horseman into their custody. Egon realized Tiamat was the culprit behind recent events. She whisked nearly everyone to the Collectors' Limbo and gave them an ultimatum: leave chaos in their wake or be destroyed. Kylie signaled Ray to use the Trap Orb but he recalled the price to using it. She contended Rachel said there was a price to dealing with gods and that ship sailed. Kylie added they failed to stop Tiamat last time by crossing a dozen Proton Streams on her. Ray couldn't argue with that and hurled the orb at Tiamat. Tiamat was at a loss for words and was caught in the explosion. She was stripped of her P.K.E. and trapped.

On Halloween, Kylie and Peter were contracted by Melanie to help with a case at the Salem Witch Museum in Massachusetts. Kylie believed the Witch Museum Ghost was one of the off-the-book executions during the Salem Witch Trials of 1692-3. The ghost put Peter and Melanie on trial and found them guilty after they kept talking in order to distract her. She attempted to burn them at the stake. Kylie got into position and trapped the ghost. She fired her thrower and cut down Peter and Melanie before they suffered any major burns. Melanie called up Kylie for help on a case in Hollywood around November 11. Kylie spent two days conducting research but figured out the ghosts in question were The Fayne Sisters after she consulted Mike Dodd's "Los Angeles Guide to the Dead." On November 13, Ray consulted over the phone with Kylie about a case in Portland, Maine. She was unable to find any information about Saint Pippy in the Ghostbusters' collection of research. On December 1, Melanie dealt with the Skinless Man and his abduction of the Fairlawn Mansion from Superior, Wisconsin to Duluth, Minnesota. Melanie consulted with Kylie over the phone. She did further research and found the mansion's Servant Girl Ghost was murdered in Duluth but her ghost was bonded to the mansion in Superior. She thought it was possible the Skinless Man wasn't able to fully manifest and attack the girl unless he kidnapped both the ghost and mansion.
