Lake Pontchartrain is a brackish estuary located in southeast Louisiana and is named after a French official, Louisphelypeaux, comte de Pontchartrain.
History[]
While in charge of public responsibilities for her mother, Marie Laveau II often performed rituals at Lake Pontchartrain. When things became very bad, Marie Laveau ended her daughter's life when she was at Pontchartrain. Over a century later, during a summer, when everything was in proper alignment for Marie Laveau II, she visited Lake Pontchartrain near the I-10 to recruit some help.
