Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island (also know as MCRD PI) is a South Carolina military installation specifically used for the training of enlisted Marines living east of the Mississippi River and all female recruits.
When Winston Zeddemore enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps, he trained at Parris Island under Staff Sergeant Adams. Years later, Adams' ghost generated a psychic reconstruction of the Parris training grounds in the second floor bedroom of a house in Brooklyn. He lured Winston to it and fought him one-on-one. After Winston trapped Adams, the manifestation reverted to the bedroom.
