Old Ben [1] runs the Museum of Ironworks in Hanover and is an expert in local history and lore. [2]

HistoryEdit

During Spring Break, Roland Jackson planned to take the supposed Sword of Stephen Decatur to Old Ben in Hanover to get it authenticated. Ben confirmed the sword was the real deal and happily answered Roland's questions about the Jersey Devil. Ben helped fend off the devil initially with Hanover iron, its only weakness then lent an old wooden wheelchair from storage to Garrett Miller after his was atomized. Ben came to their aid again using a cannon but the Sheriff White decided to sacrifice the Ghostbusters. After they escaped their deaths, they ran back to the museum. Ben, dressed in military regalia, was ready for another battle. He helped Roland and Kylie Griffin get the forge up and running in order to smelt the devil. Ben sacrificed an old desk he never really liked.

TriviaEdit

  • Ben was the only resident of Hanover not scared of Slimer.
  • In the first draft, there was an additional character in the story: Ben's granddaughter Sarah. [3] [4]
  • At the end of the first draft, Ben took Sarah with him to Atlantic City. [5]
