The Spectral Transmitter is a set of devices Egon Spengler quickly cobbled together in order to communicate with the Master of Shadows.
History[]
In the back room lab of the Firehouse, Egon connected a transmitter with a crude but effective holographic projector. With the spectral frequency of the Master collected by the P.K.E. Meter earlier, Egon transmitted on the frequency.[1] Once contact was made, the Master's image was shown by the projectors.[2]
However, Egon had no time to properly insulate the wires. When Slimer touched the projector, his ectoplasm caused circuits to short out and fuse.[3] The cybernetic units were accidentally crossed with the cerebral pathways.[4] As a result, Egon and Slimer's minds were switched. Ray Stantz used Egon's calculations to rewire the projector and only needed a 20 yard radius to perform the switch.[5] Luckily, the switch was done in time and the Master of Shadows was none the wiser.
