Is the Park "Central Park"?[]
Trying to think of anything to rope it in. I think the size of the Park is enough, tho I don't know, maybe there are other parks that are big. The museum may be a flag that indeed its central park. Thought? Devilmanozzy (Talk Page) 06:15, July 25, 2012 (UTC)
- I'm still a ways to go before re-watching the episode, but my instinct is it was Central Park since the American Museum of Natural History overlooks it right on Central Park West. Comparing photos of that museum with the one in the episode sounds like a good start in trying to identify both the museum and park. Mrmichaelt (talk) 06:24, July 25, 2012 (UTC)
- Okay, so I do think that is Central Park.
- 1) The bird's eye pan of the museum after the earthquake matches up with the Museum of Natural History. The architecture is of both are similar.
- 2) If 1) is correct, the AMNH is right by Central Park
- 3) Ecto-2 crashes into a body of water with water lilies in it. The Conservatory Water is known to have them. The other bodies in the park seem way too big or way too small and/or have some landmark to discount them.
- 4) In most of the shots of the Ghostbusters talking, there's always buildings in the background. Some of them definitely vaguely match some images from Google and Wikipedia. Mrmichaelt (talk) 07:47, July 30, 2012 (UTC)
- I am sold. I was thinking that the scene where Ray and Egon crashed looked like the Central Park Conservatory Water. I was thinking the Museum could have been the Museum of Natural History. I think all that together sort of supports each other. Devilmanozzy (Talk Page) 07:54, July 30, 2012 (UTC)
