The Real Ghostbusters (also named "Meikyuu Hunter G" / "迷宮ハンターG" in Japan) was an arcade game based on the cartoon series of the same name released by Data East in 1987. The game was later ported to the Amiga, Amstrad CPC, Atari ST, Commodore 64, ZX Spectrum.[1] There are three versions: The Real Ghostbusters (two player), The Real Ghostbusters (three player), and Meikyuu Hunter G (lacks Real Ghostbusters licensed content).
Gameplay
The game features depending on the version, three or two players. They are different in colors only: blue (player 1), yellow (player 2 or player 3), and red (player 2 and not present in two player version) . In the gameplay the player uses a proton gun that either shoots like a gun (like Boson Darts) or as a short length proton stream.

Comparing The Real Ghostbusters to Meikyuu Hunter G
It shares a great deal of the game assets and most of the gameplay values. As far as its release is concerned it was made due to the lack of copyrights and Licensing of the Ghostbusters Franchise. It does not have an ending as the level count just goes up. The first eight levels are the originals with level 9 repeating Level 1, but with more enemies/different enemies. The second weapon is not the proton stream but a multiple shot. However, pressing both weapon buttons makes the proton beam.
