Portable Media Player
|Appeared in||Ghostbusters II|
A Walkman is a portable media player sold by Sony. It was first available for sail to the public on July 1, 1979.
On New Year's Eve 1989, the Ghostbusters patched a Walkman into a PA System within the Statue of Liberty. After Ray Stantz and Winston Zeddemore finished coating the interior with Mood slime, a recording of Howard Huntsberry's cover of the Jackie Wilson song "Higher and Higher" was played on the Walkman. The positively charged slime responded and the Statue came to life.
